Barney's Warehouse Sale
What a great weekend so far. You know what I love? Shopping and good friends, together the combination is unbeatable. So I finally got together with my good model / friend Liz, she is amazing. We went to the first day of the Barney's Warehouse sale around 8:30 and it was crazy hectic. There actually weren't many great deals left or anything I don't know if that has to do with the merchandise stock in general because we arrived relatively early, doors opened at 8am. We did manage to score some awesome heels though, yay!
hers:
mine:
Liz @ a go-see
Isn't she so fierce? The best thing about her is she is genuinely such a sweetheart. I really hope she becomes really successful, this girl is amazing. Do you love her outfit? I'm her stylist! We shopped for it earlier at Barney's, the cutoff denim shorts are hers.
My outfit:
Wearing the Marc by Marc Jacobs heels I scored at the sale :)
For those who are interested in going:
236 W 18th St.
Stay tuned for pictures from our night out!

Like Leatha
Today's outfit:
I'm wearing another leather vest again....leatha leatha leatha.
Hahaha for those who watch Project Runway know what I'm talking about...that woman (I forgot her name) she is hillarious, super obsessed with leather, "I watch leatha tv."
okay maybe no one finds it as funny as I do... but I kind of love leather too
...excuse the blurriness in this one
close-up on the button, it has a star on it... i like stars. oh i finally changed my nail color i got tired of the pink, it's still Chanel (dazzling) though.
I am leathalicious!

Vintage Boredom
Hey guys, pics of today's outfit.
So FINALLY the weather is cool enough to semi-layer, wooohoo! I remember when I absolutely hated the cold weather and couldn't wait til summer came around.
Dress: H&M
Vest: Vintage
Belt: Vintage
Boots: Vintage
Don't ask, I have no idea why I took so many of the same pictures, clearly I'm really super bored right now. I secretly have more pics but that would definitely be going overboard.
Oh, incase you haven't noticed, further evidence that I am absolutely obsessed with Kate. We have the same initials and letter count for our first and last name together...ok I'm weird for noticing that, bye.
xoxo,
Karen

Hello, how is everyone doing... where did all my readers go? :(
There is talk that former Chloé creative director Phoebe Philo, (named Designer Of The Year for the British Fashion Awards in '04) is the next designer to be tapped by Celine... (via my phone from elle news alerts)
I think that it's great she is taking over, I am very interested to see what kind of fresh take of direction she comes up with for Celine.
Phoebe for Chloé Spring RTW '05
Currently, Ivana Omazic for Celine (Spring '08)
(all images from style.com)
What are your thoughts, do you think her vision is a right step for Celine?
Tell me what you think.

Model -VS- Celeb Appeal in Magazine Sales
Hey everybody. So there is a debate among the scarcity of fashion models representing fashion magazine's covers, such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle...etc. I feel that the models belong on fashion magazine covers, and no offense to the celebs but they should stick to their movies and let the models do the campaigns. But obviously celebrities are more well known therefore generate more revenue for the magazine. All is fair in fashion & business, I suppose.
Jessica Simpson recently on the cover of Elle magazine,
...Which led to record sales for Elle magazine, considered "Elle's best-selling cover of 2007" for the past 7 years.

^The article if you feel like reading it.
...and does it take a model as well-known and controversial as Kate Moss (i love her) to finally be on an American Vogue (this August's) cover?

harem pants
...is that what these are called? i can't recall. anyway my lifelong obsession of parisians, and paris, france never seem to end. hopefully i will be able to visit in the near future.
(garancedore.fr)
...which brings me to another question: why are parisians so damn (effortlessly) chic!?!? sigh.
so inspirational...i decided to dig to the end of my closet and i find these, they are actually my mothers'...fantastic.
my apologies for the poor lighting, and weird ray of light effect due to my blinds!
...much better?
anyway I don't know how I feel about them on me, makes my torso look super short... I hate being short argh!!!! let me know what you think!
and...i'm off

margiela obsession cont'd into a diy project...
hello there, how is everyone doing?
so lately, i have come across many inspirations... and my margiela obsession is currently at an all time high, and convieniently-- i'm still broke as a joke.
a lightbulb went off in my head, and i realized i had a pair of white seven jeans that i never ever wear. (i just threw on some random outfit to give you the idea of how they look, pre-scissored)
bag: marc by marc, jeans: SFAM, shoes: jeffrey campbell, black t-shirt.
aaand, less than an hour later...
voila! obviously not as good as the ripped tattered goodness of the margiela ripped jeans but, good enough for me right now.
my philosophy: when boredom strikes, use it constructively :)
thats all for now, let me know what you all think!
xoxo

bon jovi concert outfit
hello, how was everybody's weekend? did anyone actually go to the sales i posted about? i have been mia for a little bit but now i'm back with pictures! thank you all for your kind comments on my last outfit :)
saturday was the bon jovi concert @ central park, it was amazing and we had a great view.
...and this was what i originally PLANNED to wear, except it took FOREVER to deliver, argh!!!
so i'm sure everyone has heard about the margiela vs. penfound...and ofcourse i hopped on it like hot cakes, it sucks being a broke college student and i have decided to stop leeching off daddys wallet and relax for the summer. soo naturally i can't afford the runway version (sorry margiela unfortunately i'm unable to drop $1,400 on a tee :() which i would have loved to own... i settled for the original penfound artwork tee, shorts: aa, and gladiator sandals.
here i am rockin the matching sunglasses too!!!!
...just kidding, i drew it myself on microsoft paint, i wish.
-VS- runway look:
here is the article from the LA times incase anyone wants to read:
http://www.latimes.com/features/lifestyle/la-igw-cash25-2008may25,0,3053888.story
oh and there has been tremendous debate on how margiela ripped off penfound and etc. etc...but in my perspective i think it is much more than that, and it goes deeper. in my opinion, margiela has an artistic standpoint based off the original artwork if you think about it. in the penfound version, you see the native american in the middle... and in margiela's version that is replaced by an american eagle, hmmm... some food for thought? do you think it foreshadows what has been going on, figuratively and physically with the native americans? je ne sais pas, what do you think???
xoxo

after wearing black all day everyday for my internship... and half my closet is all black clothing i've decided to finally make some purchases with COLOR.
very luxurious feeel to it :)
dress: alexander wang spring '08 (this piece is actually a PROTOTYPE i scored at a sample sale, niceee!)

what to wear to a 4th of july bbq
happy 4th of july to those who do celebrate it. many of you are probably on their way, if not already at a bbq today or some other festivities. the following is what i am wearing today:
